Virtual & In Person Content for Quilt Guilds

Hello! Thank you for your interest in virtual & in person lectures and/or workshops. While a virtual session isn’t a replacement for an in-person lecture or workshop, I’m so thankful that Zoom gives quilters an opportunity to connect and share until we can all be together again! My sewing studio has several cameras that give you an optimal viewpoint of the techniques I’m teaching. I’m excited to share demos via streaming video, teach my techniques, and answer questions while you enjoy having all your fabric and supplies at home! With enough notice, I am slowly adding a limited number of in person classes to my schedule. See below for a sample of classes offered - for a full updated list of class offerings, pricing, and availability, please contact me - I look forward to hearing from you - Cheers!

Finding My Voice In Modern Quilting - Lecture / Trunk Show

This lecture focuses on my path to becoming a modern quilter and how I’ve applied many traditional techniques in my modern quilts. I’ll discuss the progression of my work and show my Radial Quilts, Watercolor Quilts, and a few others too! I’ll share information on design inspiration, favorite artists, and discuss some quilting highs and lows along my journey. I look forward to sharing my quilts and stories with you! While I will take questions throughout the lecture, I’ll save 15-20 minutes at the end specifically for any guild questions. (80 minutes)

Getting Started With Hand Dyed Fabric

Let’s take the mystery out of hand dyed fabrics - I’ll share all the things I wish I’d known when I wanted to start dyeing fabric. I’ll discuss the tools needed to get started dyeing fabric, including dyes, chemicals, containers, detergents, and measuring tools! We’ll cover the process of several dyeing techniques (including color gradations), the fabric texture that results from each technique, and resources where to find more information. Lastly, I’ll show a series of quilts that incorporate hand dyed fabrics in the design. I’ll save 10-15 minutes at the end specifically for any guild questions.
